We_Are

We are a group of members who meet every Monday evening at 7 pm in the Swiss Valley Community Center, Felinfoel, Llanelli, to have a natter, a talk by a visiting amateur, a demonstration, or any activity normally associated with amateur radio. Video nights are also very popular with videos hired from the RSGB
The club conducts RAE, Novice and Foundation when there is a demand for them. These courses are open to everyone, members and non members alike. There is no set time for the Foundation course, it is held over 2 hour sessions on a clubnight and is "on demand" (this also includes the assessment for the MW3 callsign.)
The club is normally on the air when no other activity is taking place.
The club equipment consists of a Yaesu 897 (HF/2/6/70cm) for HF bands, auto ATU, Kenwood 751E for the VHF bands and two Alinco DJ-596Es' hand held for 2M and 70cms. The PC is a 700Mhz AMD Athlon. Data interfaces and a selection of antennas, the main ones being a HF vertical and a 2M/70cm/10M/6M vertical located on the outside of the building
If you wish to join, there is a nominal annual fee and a small fee to pay at the door, which pays for the hire of the hall and other ongoing expenses.
All visitors are welcome, so come along one evening and see what its all about.
